3D Scanning - Reverse Engineering

3D-Scanning (Reverse Engineering)

Using the latest in 3D-Scanning technology & our expertise in DFAM, your parts can be reproduced to the same specifications with incredible accuracy.

Reproduce 'Hard To Replace' Parts

Do you have spare parts, custom components, complex geometries with no models or drawings? We can produce a 3D-model, which is then perfected by our design team after scanning.

Digitise Your Inventory

Eliminate the need to have large, costly inventory levels on site. We scan, correct & store your CAD-model, ready to print on-demand as your process requires them.

Optimise Designs

Once we scan your part, our team of experienced engineers can optimise it for weight reduction, strength, cost & eliminate 'Achilles heels' of old designs.

What Is 3D-Scanning & How Can I Benefit From It?

3D-Scanning is a process where a physical part or environment is captured, most commonly with Laser Triangulation, or Structured Light. This process produces a digital triangle mesh file from your physical part, with incredible accuracy.

It is the perfect solution if you do not have CAD-drawings or 3D-models for your parts, or find it hard to source a particular component. Likewise, if you have a complex environment, e.g a car shell, that you want to design the perfect-fit part for, scanning the area will allow a part to be designed to fit the complex contours.

We provide a call-out service for this. One of our Design Engineers will visit you & capture the data needed. They will then optimise the file back in our design office & have it prepared & ready for 3D-printing on-demand.
